TrustDate does not run criminal background checks. You interact with other users at your own risk. TrustDate is not liable for the conduct of any user on or off the application. We empower you with transparency, but you must ultimately verify the identity and character of any person you choose to interact with.
1. Online Safety Rules
- Never Send Money or Financial Information: Never send money, especially over wire transfer, even if the person claims to be in an emergency.
- Protect Your Personal Information: Never share personal information, such as your social security number, home address, or details about your daily routine, with people you don't know well.
- Keep Conversations on the Platform: We strongly recommend keeping conversations on TrustDate while you are getting to know someone.
- Be Wary of Long-Distance and Overseas Relationships: Watch out for scammers who claim to be from your country but are currently traveling or working abroad.
2. In-Person Meeting Safety
- Meet in Public and Stay in Public: Meet for the first time in a populated, public place—never at your home, your date's home, or any other private location.
- Tell Friends and Family: Inform a friend or family member of your plans, including when and where you are going. Always let someone know you are on a date.
- Be in Control of Your Transportation: We recommend you control your own transportation to and from your date so that you can leave whenever you want.
- Don't Leave Drinks Unattended: Keep your drink with you at all times.
3. Reporting and Moderation
We take safety seriously within the digital bounds of our application. If a user is harassing you, soliciting money, or engaging in abusive behavior, please report them immediately using the in-app reporting tools. While we review reports promptly, TrustDate assumes no liability or mandate to act as a legal intermediary. If you are in immediate danger, please contact local law enforcement.
